Residence Le Palme is equidistant from the center of Grottammare and the center of San Benedetto del Tronto, the two most important seaside resorts of the Riviera delle Palme.

The origins of the city are very ancient, dating back to the Piceni era. The first sure proof of the existence of the Grottammare Castle dates back to the Xth century: its strategically important position led to the fact that in the sixteenth century it was completely surrounded by defense walls and controlled by the Tower of the Battle.
In 1521, here was born who would become, in 1585, a pontiff named Sisto V °. The coastal area begins to develop in the 18th century, but it is a century after noble families begin to build their own villas, including Villino Ravenna, where the great composer Franz Liszt was staying in 1868. Villa Laureati was the venue for another historic event, the meeting between Vittorio Emanuele II and the Naples delegation arrived in Grottammare to offer the King the crown of the southern provinces.

In the early twentieth century Liberty has been developed in the city, and the splendid villas of Viale Colombo are witnessed. Today, Grottammare is an internationally renowned tourist center that alternates seasonal initiatives with fixed cultural appointments such as the International "Franz Liszt Prize "And the national contest" Cabaret AmoreMio! ", Which has been held uninterruptedly since 1983.

The city is also famous for its flowers: thanks to the passion of its floricivists, palm trees and oleanders color every corner of the country together with a multitude of other essences including orange, a symbol of the city and hence its climate.

The origins of the city of San Benedetto, one of the most important fishing port of Italy, are still not dated: in the nineteenth century, the first bathing establishments were born, tourism developed and the mild climate favors the growth of palms , which are now more than seven thousand: its population, which reaches nearly fifty thousand people, doubled in the summer thanks to the numerous hotels, apartments and campsites located along the five-mile seafront.

A marina, a nautical and sailing club, a tennis club, a hockey and skating complex, boules and swimming pools, the athletics track that many northern European companies choose for training sessions, the Palazzetto and the soccer and rugby fields are just a few of the facilities available to those who love to do sports: many leisure and entertainment opportunities for younger people offer discos and clubs that offer diverse musical styles, each year the city is included in the tours of major national artists. The Piceno hinterland is rich in history and cities not to be missed - first of all the provincial capital, Ascoli Piceno, whose historic center could soon be recognized as a "heritage of humanity" by UNESCO.

The "Town of the Hundred Towers" is one of the monumental cities of Italy, famous for its historical center, entirely made of travertine, and for Piazza del Popolo, a Renaissance masterpiece over which the Palazzo dei Capitani, the Church of San Francesco and the famous Caffè Meletti.

In Piazza Arringo, on the other hand, you can admire the baptistery of St. John and the cathedral of the patron saint of the city, Sant'Emidio. Also to visit is the Roman bridge of Solestà, the Roman theater and the Forte Malatesta: the Teatro Ventidio Basso, a neoclassical structure, is one of the 63 historical theaters of the Marches and one of the fifteen of the province of Ascoli Piceno.

Due to its artistic and historical importance, the historic center of Ascoli Piceno is a candidate for becoming a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
